THE CONCOURS GÉNÉRAL AGRICOLE...
This year, during the International Agricultural Show, the 130th edition of the Concours Général Agricole took place. This competition celebrates the richness and diversity of flavors, showcasing French local products, wines, and livestock, while rewarding producers committed to taste and quality — promoting French excellence and craftsmanship.
Each year, five competition categories are awarded:
- The breeding animal competition, rewarding France’s best breeding animals since 1870
- The wine competition, a benchmark in the wine world
- The product competition, a reference event and mark of quality since its inception
- The young professionals competition, revealing new talent through five dedicated contests
- The agroecological practices competition, which honors the agroecological balance achieved by farmers on their grasslands
To ensure quality results, the jury is made up of professionals and consumers, all trained to refine their palates and accurately assess the products entered into the competition.
...VEDRENNE AWARDED
VEDRENNE has been participating in this competition for over twenty years and has already received numerous medals, reflecting the care taken in product development and quality.
This year, a new medal has been added to VEDRENNE’s list of awards.
Redesigned in 2022 to highlight its two main ingredients, apple and chestnut, as well as its region of origin, Le Birlou liqueur was awarded the gold medal at this latest edition of the CGA.
Thanks to a unique taste combining the indulgence of apple and the smoothness of chestnut, Le Birlou transported the judges to the chestnut groves of Cantal.

Its color : Amber
Its nose : Indulgent aromas of apple and chestnut with a hint of vanilla.
Its flavor : All the indulgence of apple followed by the smoothness of chestnut.

3 cl Le Birlou liqueur
3 cl Tequila
0.5 cl Lemon juice
0.5 cl Lime juice
Shake all ingredients and pour into a cocktail glass with crushed ice.
